We’ll All Miss Dan Fogelberg
“Dan left us this morning at 6:00am . He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side. His strength, dignity, and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.”
I first met Dan when he was recording Captured Angel. Since he lived nearby, he visited the ranch often, and we all knew him.
A Few of My memories:
I remember helping Al Burnham design and build a home stereo for Dan’s mountain home. Al installed it there, too. I also remember an evening of pool, beer, and chit chat in Nederland at the Pioneer Inn. I believe Joe Walsh, Jeff Guercio, John Carsello, and Dan were all there. And, one of my slides of the ranch shows Norbert Putnam in a blinding snowstorm.

He will be greatly missed in the music world, because he wrote such great songs. It seems like almost anyone you talk to has a memory associated with one of Dan’s songs. I know I do!
Be sure to visit his website, Dan Fogelberg.com , and if you’d care to offer your thoughts or message of condolence, you can do that here: http://www.thelivinglegacy.net/wishes.html
Also, Dan realized he had made a huge mistake by not checking his health more diligently. (He was only 56 years old.) And he became an advocate for regular PSA screening, and you can donate in his name at the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Dan, we’ll miss you. My hope is that you are now lending your beautiful voice to a choir of angels in Heaven.
Please take a moment to sign the petition to have Dan inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
